The UK’s leading charity for people with cerebral palsy
Absolute Proof has edited over 900,000 words on three major projects for this charity. These included 117 transcripts of interviews for their 'Speaking For Ourselves' report, a 185 page book for their ‘Ready, Willing and Disabled’ campaign and an extensive report ‘When Communication Gets Tough’. Text, quotes, statistics, tables, font, layout and design were all examined within the given timescale using their editing house style. This was an intensive project that needed a proactive and precise attitude.

An enduring relationship, we have completed all projects to the deadlines set, no matter how large, for over 15 years. This has included proofreading their bi-yearly Learning Directory, fluidbooks and training documents for many of their clients. A relationship that started five years ago, reports are proofread each and every week, to a 24 hour deadline. Reports are written by non-English native speakers so proofreading their translation needs a keen eye and extreme concentration.
Qatar Petroleum
Working and collaborating with a number of companies and shareholders, this five-month project saw Absolute Proof edit and proofread employee reports for the Qatar Petroleum's 600+ Front Line Leaders. All reports were proofread in the strictest of confidence, and the deadlines were tight. Absolute Proof's dedication meant that turnover was high, yet precise and thorough. This project led to more work via Bright Support and later WiseWorx.

Proofreading manuscripts and dissertations in English for non-native speakers, Absolute Proof has catered for a number of students, proofreading their work. The majority of the clients were Japanese with English as a second language.

Books
Absolute Proof proofread the published book 'SOE CD1: The Life and Times of Sir Frank Nelson' by Mike Palmer. This was a 310,000 word manuscript that was edited within one month, to the author's specific print deadline.
'Timeless Sparks' was proofread and edited within a week to a publishing standard.
A book used to help promote safe bus travel, 'Dennis Dart Goes to School' was proofread to a tight deadline and was commissioned by Citybus Plymouth.
Plymouth Devon International College
With a tight deadline of just 24 hours and during a weekend, Absolute Proof was asked to proofread a 16,000 word information booklet for Plymouth Devon International College. Within the specified timescale the work was completed to the same expert standard as every other project, with precise detail, and emailed to the client and the job was concluded before the day had ended.
Individuals
A number of student dissertations for university courses, usually approximately 80 pages a time, have also been edited, as well as CVs, tender applications, public notices and menus.
Absolute Proof have also edited an entire self-help/ autobiographical book by a local businessman, Mr M. McLeod, in 2007. This involved proofreading, editing, re-writing certain parts, examining facts, and designing the entire layout of the entire manuscript. This book is currently being considered for publication.
Websites
We have proofread a number of companies' websites. In 2012 administrative support company Bright Support asked us to proofread their new website. Print Copy Scan's website was edited and proofread in 2016 and in 2019 we proofread an automobile dent removal company's website. Just recently we were asked by a new start-up to proofread their multi-page website, specialising in e-commerce.
Other
In addition, Absolute Proof proofread and typed an entire hand-written manuscript for an autobiography of a local ex-serviceman, in 2006. This pain-staking work meant the time and effort of transcribing was taken off the shoulders of the author.
